Winners of the FIBO INNOVATION AWARD have been chosen
Innovations, state-of the-art: they take centre stage at this year’s FIBO. Today, the best among them were presented the FIBO INNOVATION AWARD. Once again, the winners demonstrate the potential existing in the industry, as well as the enormous range of the world of fitness. The winners in the three categories Training Equipment, Health Promotion and Design created state-of-the-art high-tech products or implemented a smart idea.
The prizes were awarded by an independent expert jury presided over by the TÜV Rheinland Group and in cooperation with the FIT FOR FUN magazine. Its members are journalists, sports scientists and sports physicians.
Winners in the Training Equipment category: cube sports

Cube Sports / Marcel Wergen and Daniel Borschel with Matthias Lompa from TÜV Rheinland LGA Products
In the Training Equipment category cube sports won against a strong field of competitors. The adventure playground is “a child of FIBO”, was how the company first presented this concept at the Leading International Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and Health last year. One year later, a modular world of movement has been created which offers a multitude of exercise varieties for different demands and requirements. With its virtually unlimited variability of assembly possibilities and its simple handling, the system can be used in all kinds of fitness and rehabilitation centres but also in school sports. Here, the modules take the place of classic equipment such as high bar, double bars or balance bars and can provide new exercising motivation for students – a fact the jury particularly emphasised.
Winner in der Health Promotion category: Technogym SPA

TechnoGym / Alberto Bortolotti with Prof. Dr. Ingo Froböse from Sporthochschule Köln
Exercising in the fitness studio, but also in everyday life: The winning device in the Health Promotion category combines both, thus motivating the user to exercise more. The jury were impressed by the combination of indoor and outdoor activities and presented Technogym SPA with an award for “mywellness key“. “mywellness key” is a small portable device that measures daily physical activity, thus encouraging the users to exercise more on a daily basis. Thus it provides fitness clubs with a possibility to monitor and support their clients during their physical exercises both when training in the studio and outdoors.
Winner in the Design category: Lamiflex SPA

Firma Lamiflex / Luca Bonfanti with Olaf Tomscheit Eventdirector FIBO
With its single wheel, Ciclotte is no doubt different from other exercise bikes or home fitness devices. And that was precisely what convinced the jury to award the prize in the Design category to the indoor bike from Lamiflex SPA. “The unusual emergence of a species which possibly never existed before in this form”, was how jury member Matthias Lompa of TÜV Rheinland describes the decision. Ciclotte breaks with the design of those devices that primarily stressed functional aspects and addresses a target group of users appreciating both physical and aesthetics aspects.
