Up to 1000 indoor cyclists pedalling in sync: that's possible only at FIBO! For the seventh time already, the big FIT FOR FUN Cycling Festival will take place at the Leading International trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and Health in Essen. The popular event will have a new home: participants can now exercise right next to Hall 1 near the South Entrance. Here the "Deutschland" room offers perfect lighting and sound conditions and a pleasant atmosphere for the athletes. Also new: all bicycles will be supplied by the Tomahawk company this year. On Saturday, Tomahawk offers several sessions for all performance levels. Whether hobby athlete or coach, individuals or whole teams: there will be something for everyone. One highlight will of course be the big Cycling Marathon taking place on Sunday 17 April.

Working up a sweat for a good cause

Companies, public institutions or private interest groups: under the motto "Get moving to get things moving" everybody will again be able to prove their sense of social responsibility and sportsmanship on the FIBO Friday. Due to the great success of the three previous events, the cycling event in aid of the Tour of Hope will be held for the fourth time already. The participants make an important contribution to helping children with cancer: by hiring the indoor cycles and as well as by individual donations, the FIBO organiser, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, hopes to raise a significant amount in donations which will go in full to the Essen Parents' Initiative to help Children with Cancer (Essener Elterninitiative zur Unterstützung krebskranker Kinder e.V.). In 2010, the respectable sum of 8000 euro was raised. In 2009 it was 5000 euro. For more than 25 years, the initiative has been providing assistance to families of children with cancer, among other things with its house for parents located in the direct vicinity of the children's hospital. Information on registration and procedure is available from Kim Dröge of the FIBO Team at 0211/90191335, Kim.Droege@reedexpo.de.
